Cooking instructions

Pre-Cooking: Rinse the rice thoroughly.

Boil on Stove Top


  1. Add 1 cup of rice and 6 to 8 cups of cold tap water to a saucepan.
  2. Leave uncovered and bring to a boil on a higher heat stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until tender.
  4. When desired texture is reached, remove from heat, drain in a colander and serve.


Absorption Method


  1. Add 1 cup of rice and 1 and 1/2 cups of cold tap water to a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil on a medium to high heat stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 10 to 15 minutes until tender stirring occasionally.
  4. When desired texture is reached, remove from heat, stand covered for 3 to 5 minutes and serve.


Rice Cooker


  1. Rinse rice twice with cold water.
  2. Add 1 cup of rice to cooker bowl and add  1 and 1/2 cups of cold tap water.
  3. Turn on rice cooker and follow manufacturers instructions.
  4. For best results allow to stand covered in the cooker for 5 mins at the end of the cooking time.


Tips: Use a large cooking pot with wider base giving rice maximum space to expand. 
Do not prepare large quantity of rice in small pot.
Gently fluff rice with a fork before serving.
